In describing a dream in which he had a vision of various young men who had been taken over by the sin of lust, St. John Bosco (1815-1888) said: “I saw another throng of boys, but not the countless number as at the beginning of the dream. Formerly very handsome, they now appeared ugly, sullen, and covered with hideous sores, and they walked about with great melancholy as if stooped or wasted by age. No one spoke.”
wow that picture you posted is so “politically incorrect”, now it would be impossible to print that in a newspaper. I remember watching a video about the repercussions on Freddy Mercury's death, and Phil Collins being so sincere saying: “If you are having sex with everyone it's obvious you are going to end up like that”. If he says something like that right now, he would be labelled as homophobe…
Out of curiosity, what body of work is that text from? I tried to copy and search for it, but I couldn't find it. It's absolutely fascinating.
You have some of the most wonderful writings and insight, I've known about your work for a while but only recently stumbled across this site. I could read your writings for hours!
It was taken from the book: “Dreams, Visions & Prophecies of Don Bosco.”
Wonderful! Thank you so much!
