Solid, comforting quotes. have a collection of such quotes stored in my phone, and read them during my commute. I like the quote by Ignatius of Loyola. It reflects very much the way I try to think when faced with a painful situation: Suffering leads to personal growth, and I try to view the suffering as God giving me an opportunity to grow closer to him. It means: God has not yet given up on me.

“…God has not yet given up on me…” ?!?!?!? It is *we* who, through lack of faith / pride / despair, etc. tend to give up on God. He *never* gives up on us. cf. CCC 214, 218 – https://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p1s2c1p1.htm – read with for example, Jer. 29:11, Is. 55: 10-11, etc.

God will never give up on you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
